Construction: A platinum coil is sealed in a high purity aluminum oxide ceramic body. Lead wires are resistant to shear force and ensure proper connection to extension wires and cables.

 

This type of sensor has a thin glassy layer, providing greater protection for applications in harsh environments. An interesting feature of this type of watertight construction is that the element can be directly exposed to moisture and acidic or alkaline liquid elements, without being damaged.
